JAMES A. NICHOLS SCHOLARSHIP
Mr. Nichols was a Black Educator in the Lakeway area for many years. He was instrumental in motivating and encouraging many children about the importance of obtaining an education.
The Reunion of the Ages James A. Nichols Scholarship is awarded annually. The amount of each scholarship is determined by the Reunion of the Ages Executive Board based on funds available. To be considered for a scholarship, the following is required of each applicant:
• A completed application form returned to the organization on or before March 31 annually. Applications received after this date will not be considered.
• Applicant must have a GPA (grade point average) of a “C” or above.
• Applicant must (or will) be a high school graduate or have obtained their GED.
• Applicant must provide proof of acceptance to and enrollment in a university, college, or trade school.
• Applicant must provide information on community involvement.
• An essay (typed or printed) on why applicant is requesting financial assistance in pursuit of their educational goals must be included with the application.

WILLIAM "SAM" BRAZIEL SCHOLARSHIP
William Samuel Braziel was devoted to being involved in the Morristown community as a coach, former president of the Lakeway Area Football Association, Tee To Green Golf Association, and 1st president of the Reunion of the Ages. The William “Sam” Braziel scholarship amount is predetermined by the family.
To be considered for a scholarship, the following is required of each applicant:

A completed application form must be returned to the organization on or before May 31, 2018. Applications that are incomplete and received after May 31, 2018, will not be considered.

Applicant must have a GPA (grade point average) of a “C” (75-84) or above.

Applicant must be a high school senior.

Applicant must provide, with this application, a copy of high school transcript and diploma or a copy of high school transcript and GED, along with proof of acceptance to a university, college, or trade school.

Applicant must provide information on community involvement.

An essay (typed or printed) on why the applicant is requesting financial assistance in pursuit of their educational goals must be included with the application.

Applicant must be present in order to receive this scholarship or send a family representative on your behalf.

FRANCIS "Mae West" PRESSLEY ACADEMIC SCHOLARSHIP AWARD
Mrs. Pressly attended Morristown College where she attained her Associates of Arts degree. Francis was the Valedictorian of the Class of 1978. While at Morristown College, Mrs. Pressley was named Who's Who in American Junior Colleges. She later earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice at Morris Brown College '80 and was named Who's Who in Historically Black Colleges and Universities. The scholarship will be given in her memory annually by her devoted loving husband William "Duck" Pressley and long time friend Mrs. Cassandra "Sunshine" Davis. The annual scholarship award will be one thousand ($1,000) dollars and awarded to a student who has proven record of academic excellence on their high school transcripts/accolades. The first award was presented in June 2017 and will be presented for ten (10) consecutive years. This scholarship award will be administered by the Reunion of the Ages Scholarship Committee. In addition, all recipients will be selected by the ROTA Scholarship Committee on behalf of Mr. Wm. Pressley & Mrs.C. Davis.
